"Little Big Yew" styling history Part 1

Here is a few photos of my Yew from when I first aquired the tree way back in 2002. I purchased the tree from a club auction when I used to live in Hornchurch, Essex and just shows with time and patience what you can achieve.

The original piece of raw material from nursery stock at a Marc Noelanders workshop in Southend, before my owning the tree, 2002 ish
The tree post stying at the Noelanders workshop, 2002 ish
The tree at the begining of2004 after some work by me and carving by Mick Sherman
The tree in late 2004 after some refining and bending
Early 2005
Who said trees dont like snow! December 2005
Too be continued...

The Tale of Simon and the Thorn of Mystery

Here are a few pictures of Simon and Terry Foster working on his large cascade hawthorn. Unfortunately I do not have a photo of the finished tree, Simon can you show us the finished tree if you have a photo. The finished tree looks superb and was overall a huge transformation. I am sure Simon will be brining the tree along to a future club meeting for you all to see.

Wire wire everywhere...

join part A to part B then bend...

are you still following Simon, just a wee bend here and there...

got it Terry.

Burrs 2009

Simon and I attended the most excellent Burrs workshop in Bury over this past weekend. Rather than me putting up lots of photos I have added a link here to the Internet Bonsai Club forum thread that has lots of pictures and banter about the weekend. Enjoy
